Winter Classic festivities began Wednesday night with a late-night party that took over two floors of the Hotel Commonwealth. The soiree, which drew everyone from local entertainers to National Hockey League sponsors, featured Bruins ice girls performing a fashion show in skates on a fake ice rink, a DJ set by Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC, and a steady flow of Narragansett beer for hockey fans who were able to make their way to the bar through the crowded dance floor. The 1,000-plus person guest list included NESN’s Heidi Watney, Bruins alums Rick Middleton and Bob Sweeney, Massachusetts Film Office director Mary Chiochios, Marlo marketing boss Marlo Fogelman, TD Garden girls Tricia McCorkle and Jen Compton, former NHL Players’ Association chief Paul Kelly, Reebok’s Paul Foster, David Ortiz’s wife, Tiffany, and local actor-producer Lance Greene, who has a role in the soon-to-be-released Ben Affleck film “The Company Men.’’ PR honcho Joe Baerlein cleverly described the festivities as “Newbury Street on ice.’’ Our highlight of the night was watching “Mad Fisherman’’ Charlie Moore in a velvet smoking jacket, almost clocking another guest by the bar. For the record, Moore is a huge hockey fan.
