The Long Island Music Hall of Fame (LIMHoF), Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, and Public Enemy present their first spoken word poetry contest.
The contest calls for entrants to write a long poem about their home on Long Island, download an original music track composed by DJ Johnny Juice (Public Enemy), and submit a recording of their performance of the spoken word reading set to the three-minute music track. The deadline for entries is April 30, 2010.
DMC and Chuck D (Public Enemy) will judge the finalists in three categories: grades 1-6, grades 7-9, grades 10-12. Winners will receive their choice of Band Hero™ or DJ Hero™ (age permitting). Full details about the contest are available HERE.
