Surprise's NFL Celebrity Game Participants Unveiled

The roster is out for the Celebrity Flag Football Challenge 2008 next Saturday on the Surprise Recreation Campus in conjunction with Super Bowl XLII in Glendale.

Surprise officials have been waiting for the names, anticipating a major boost in ticket sales, said Mark Coronado, the city's director of Community and Recreation Services. The city expects 10,000 people to attend.

"The most frequent question we've been asked at the box office has been 'Who are the players?'" he said.

According to Coronado, the following celebrities are slated to appear in the game:

Former players

Doug Flutie, NFL quarterback.

Greg Townsend, Raider (Los Angeles and Oakland).

Otis Wilson, All-Pro, Chicago Bears.

Present players

Alan Branch, defensive tackle, Arizona Cardinals; Lance Briggs, linebacker, Bears; Rock Cartwright, running back, Washington Redskins; Chris Cooper, defensive end, Cardinals; Darnell Dockett, defensive tackle, Cardinals; Eddie Drummond, wide receiver, Kansas City Chiefs; Travis Fisher, defensive back, Detroit Lions; Drayton Florence, defensive back, San Diego Chargers; Eric Green, cornerback, Cardinals; Quinn Gray, quarterback, Jacksonville Jaguars; Derek Hagan, wide receiver, Miami Dolphins; Andrew Hall, running back, Denver Broncos; Glenn Holt, wide receiver, Cincinnati Bengals; Chad Johnson, wide receiver, Bengals; Kenoy Kennedy, safety, Lions; Marshawn Lynch, running back, Buffalo Bills; Willis McGahee, running back, Baltimore Ravens; Kassim Osgood, wide receiver, Chargers, and Neil Rackers, kicker, Cardinals.

Tickets for the event are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
